What is Connections to the Workplace? 

Connections to the Workplace is a government initiative that places post-secondary grads into work experiences. This initiative assists young post-secondary educated professionals to gain work experience in their field by matching them with employers. We partner with employers who are looking for post-secondary graduates for full-time (37.5hr) placements at a wage $18.40 and who can provide a comprehensive 12 week training period.

Are you a young professional, 30 and under, looking to work in your field of study?

Benefits to Young Professionals

  • Selected applicants will have access to coaching sessions ; job search, resume and interview skills
  • We provide support throughout the 12 weeks training period, to maximum benefit to candidates
  • Candidate must be actively looking for full time work in their field of study

 Candidate Eligibility:

  • Completed Post-Secondary Education obtained in Canada or Abroad, legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulation

  • Canadian Citizen, Resident or Refugee entitled to work (no temporary work visa, SIN starting with 9)

  • Between the ages of 15-30 (must be 30 at the time of work placement)

  • Not currently in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits

Employers selected to partner with us will benefit from a subsidy of $13.40/hr during the initial 12 week training period, the employer is responsible for a minimum of $5 top up fee or wage according to industry standard.
